Description
Venture Scotland believe that every young adult should have the opportunity to learn how to change so that they lead a happier, healthier, and more fulfilled life. Its small delivery team and dedicated volunteers engage with young adults aged between 16-30 over a 12-month period; in particular young people who are struggling with their mental health and who are asking for help.
They offer a progressive outdoor-based personal development programme over 4 stages. The programme is group-based and involves meeting twice a week to participate in fun and challenging sessions that use the outdoor environment to stimulate and sustain personal development and growth. Activities include everything from hill walking to canoeing to coasteering and loads more in between.
Using Scotland’s natural environments, both remote and within your local communities, they deliver:
- outdoor activities
- one-to-one support sessions
- bothy residentials
These activities can allow you to experience routine, caring adult relationships, safe spaces, meaningful activity, time away from technology and the restorative effect of the outdoors.
Venture Scotland is still offering a personal development programme throughout the Covid-19 pandemic although some activities have been modified and strict hygiene measures have been put in place, to ensure the safely of staff, volunteers and participants and ensure compliance with current government restrictions.
