Health in Mind’s West Lothian Re:discover service helps to create social networks to reduce loneliness and isolation and offers peer support groups too.
People are supported to build confidence, meet new people and connect into local groups and activities.
This can include:
- increased social inclusion through increased community engagement
- increased self-confidence and self esteem
- improved social skills
- increased ability to self-manage
Support and Development Workers recruit, train and support peers and volunteers as well as supporting those using the service. They also enable and support peer groups in the wider community.
