Description

Miles Further – West Lothian is embedding a free, compassionate transport and wellbeing service to Armed Forces, Seafaring and Blue Light communities across the area. Building on Vector24’s presence, the project is recruiting local volunteers, making it possible for more individuals and families to get where they need to be. That may be attending essential appointments, accessing welfare support or taking part in community life.

Through Miles Further – West Lothian, Vector24 is offering a locally based service, delivered by trained and peer experienced volunteer Outreach Support Officers, who understand the unique pressures of service-related life. Our Officers offer more than transport: they reassure, understand and are a welcoming first point of contact, helping people feel supported rather than isolated.

All journeys are provided free of charge, removing financial barriers at a time when cost-of-living pressures are hitting many families hard. By working closely with local organisations and community partners, Vector24 has clear and trusted routes into many partner services. Beneficiaries can be referred to us or self refer online or by phone and it’s also easy to contact us about volunteering through our online form.

Above all, Miles Further – West Lothian is about connecting: helping people stay engaged with their communities, access opportunities and feel part of a supportive network. By growing local capacity and working alongside local partners, the project is ensuring that Armed Forces, Seafaring and Blue Light veterans, personnel and their families in West Lothian can further benefit from our dedicated informed transport.
