Description

Linburn walled garden is a veteran outdoor hub that supports veterans, their families and the wider community. This historic garden supports the community through its horticultural practices and wellbeing activities. Within the garden there is a polytunnel, vegetable patch, wildflower maze, raised bed area, pond, cut flower garden, kitchen garden and a sensory garden.

There is also an expanse of grass where outdoor games are placed. The garden is staffed and generally open to the public Mon-Fri 10-4. The purpose is for veterans, families and the wider community to collaborate and break social isolation, learn new skills, engage in wellbeing activities and develop a beautiful productive greenspace.

Tuesday is our volunteer day that community members can join and volunteer in the garden. Tasks vary depending on garden need and time of year.

Volunteering is self-led but with support and guidance. To volunteer, please email veterans@cyrenians.scot.

Thursday is our dedicated Veteran/serving personnel focused day. This is a regular drop-in day for veterans and their families only. Veterans do not need to contact prior however they can get more information by emailing veterans@cyrenians.scot.

Quarterly, we hold seasonal veteran family fun days – these will be advertised. Seasonal produce (fruit/veg/flowers) is on offer for donation
