Generation Arts is a local charity, based in West Lothian, that brings art and creativity to older people. It aims to ensure that every person over 50 years old has the opportunity to take part in a creative activity that sustains or improves their mental and physical health.

The project helps tackle isolation and can bring you comfort if you are affected by life-threatening or limiting conditions such as dementia, disabilities and loneliness.

Generation Arts do this in three ways – with its programme in elderly care settings; weekly dance and song community classes and with special annual events. All its activities are free or low cost to participants, delivered by qualified artists and developed to promote independence, confidence and good health.

Generation Arts is run by a board of retired individuals, including a qualified accountant as our treasurer, who meet monthly for planning discussions.
