1st Step provides safe spaces for people affected by addiction and or poor mental health. All our services focus on inspiring recovery in the community through creating social spaces and opportunities to find a purpose through meaningful volunteering.

1st Steps aims to:

  1. To provide services for individuals affected by and in recovery from substance misuse in West Lothian and the surrounding area in order to relieve the suffering and disadvantage caused by addictions and improve their lives and the lives of their families
  2. To provide safe environments for individuals in recovery from substance misuse, their friends, family and local communities.
  3. To advance education by providing skills development, training and volunteering opportunities for people in recovery from substance misuse to improve their life chances and opportunities for future employment.

Services include:

Bike refurbishment training and volunteer opportunities at the Linlithgow Recycling center on Tuesdays 9-5pm

A community café that runs every Tuesday 12-3pm serving free hot food.

A community garden open to new volunteers open every Tuesday 1-3pm

A community food hub from Cross House in Linlithgow every Saturday and Monday 10am-12.30pm
