Care Experienced Week: Forward to the Future

24 September 2026

Who Cares?
Scotland

Care Experienced Week takes place from 26 October to 1 November 2026, bringing people and organisations together to celebrate Scotland’s Care Experienced community and look towards the future.

This year’s theme is ‘Forward to the Future’, focusing on where Care Experienced people are now, what they are looking forward to, and how organisations and communities can help create positive futures.

Care Experienced Week was first held in 2018 and was inspired by National Care Leavers’ Week. It recognises that leaving care does not mean leaving your care experience behind, and that care experience can be part of someone’s life at every stage.

Support for Care Experienced people

If you are Care Experienced and looking for information or support, West Space has resources for children and young people, including information about living in care, looking after your mental health and finding support.

You can also explore our wider children and young people’s guides and resources for information, advice and practical ways to look after your mental health and wellbeing.

Whether you are living in care, preparing to leave care or thinking about what comes next, you do not have to figure everything out on your own.
